As Web3 products push deeper into the mainstream, the NFT collection Deadfellaz has signed an exclusive representation deal with United Talent Agency that includes brand partnerships, merchandising, gaming, and live events.
“Very bullish on the future,” tweeted Deadfellaz co-founder “Betty,” sharing news of signing with UTA, which also recently has inked deals with CryptoPunks, Meebits, and Autoglyphs.
Launched last August by the pseudonymous creators “Betty” and “Psych,” Deadfellaz is a collection of 10,000 zombie-themed NFTs minted on the Ethereum blockchain.
“Betty and Psych are true visionaries and leaders, and we’re looking forward to all the ways we can work with them to bring value to the Deadfellaz community and make the metaverse a more equitable space,” Lesley Silverman, head of Web3 at UTA, told The Hollywood Reporter.
While some NFT collections have courted controversy tied to race or gender, Deadfellaz innovation lead “Mec” isn’t expecting such a reaction when it comes to genderless green zombies.
“I think the most exciting part of Deadfellaz signing to UTA is the potential for people outside the NFT community to be exposed to NFTs more thoughtfully and inclusively, ” Mec tells Decrypt.
Since its launch, the Deadfellaz collection has generated over $82 million in sales. The floor price as of Tuesday was 2.46 ETH (around $7,600 each) on OpenSea, the leading NFT trading platform.
“We’re really excited to support not only a female-led project,” Silverman added, “but one that has continually vouched for authentic inclusivity and diversity in Web3 since its inception.”
